It was just an ordinary gathering of a group of Urologists when the vision of a Urologic Corporation was presented by a dreamer. The ideas were definitely brilliant but a little apprehension was very much felt. A number of major and minor considerations have to be assured in order to convince a great majority. But just like any innovative move, the group was not an exception to resistance. Prayers and dedication from the prime movers made the dream a reality.
In October 1995, the UROLOGY CENTER OF THE PHILIPPINES, INC. was born. The man-hour spent in forming our corporation is immeasurable. Our corporation finally got a stronger stance when it was formally registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on December 20, 1995.
Our first venture on Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) was formatted on a calculated risk. Operation of our Stone Unit at Manila Doctors Hospital started April 10, 1996 and was finally blessed in May 6, 1996. Our performance is highly rated, but this was only made possible through the sincere efforts of each and everyone of us. UCPI is fast growing. We did not only grow in number of members but also in the services we offer. Timely with our first year anniversary was the addition of our youngest baby - our UCPI Ambulatory Care Center.
From a mere corporation name is a birth of a Stone Unit, which later was followed by an Ambulatory Care Center. And presently, our Urology Center of the Philippines has opened its wings last November 11, 2011. UCPI has been granted the licensed to operate as a secondary hospital approved by the Department of Health (DOH) last March 6, 2012.
Headed for the aperture of a new Urology Center for the year 2011, it currently embarks in acquiring new equipments entering into new venture arrangements as it upgrades its machines and instruments, including its outside mobility park. UCPI takes its lead as the innovator in the urological industry and always conforms to the highest standards of service excellence.
UCPI is considered the leader in the delivery of utmost urologic care managed by top urologists in the Philippines. Its Board of Directors consists mostly of past presidents of the Philippine Urological Association, Chairmen of the Philippine Board of Urology and Heads of respective training instituion in urology. It continues to adhere to its social responsibility by contributing to the growth and progress of Urology where it engages in activities in the support of this field of practice. It has the most modernized urologic state of the art equipments. We have thousands of satisfied patients in the course of our 22 years of quality service.
